The first very exciting news we have to report is that Dame Maggie Smith has kindly agreed to be our Patron. We are deeply grateful for her interest in the Trust.
We should like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have given donations during the year. With continuing financial gifts, the Trust can increase its support to some of those in need.

2002-2003 (Total £30,000 awarded to the Arts)
- Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) (£5,000 student bursary to Sinead Matthews / Ruth Everett)
- Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (£5,000 student bursary to Alan Morrissey)
- Wimbledon School of Art (£5,000 student bursary to Jonathan Griffin)
- Exeter College of Arts and Design (£3,000 student bursary to Russell Frampton / Jenny Mellings)
- Falmouth College of Arts (£3,000 grant for student study visits)
- Shakespeare at The Tobacco Factory (£5,000 grant for Andrew Hilton's production of Troilus and Cressida)
- National Print Exhibition 2003 (£1,000 award to Meg Dutton, outstanding printmaker)
- Master of Music Composition student (£500 grant to Naomi Pinnock)
- Royal Academy of Music (£2,500 grant for production of Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen)
2003-2004 (£35,000 committed)
- RADA (£5,000 student bursary, name to be announced in September)

- Chichester Festival Theatre (£5,000 to work of Associate Festival Dramaturg, Ed Kemp)
- Exeter College of Arts and Design (£3,000 student bursary, name to be announced in October)
- Falmouth College of Arts (£3,000 grant for student study visits)
- National Print Exhibition 2004 (two £500 awards to outstanding printmakers)
- London Institute Drama Society (£2,000 grant to Edinburgh Fringe Festival production)
- Dance Umbrella (£3,000 grant towards the Merce Cunningham Company's residency at The Place)
- Royal Academy of Music (£3,000 grant for production of Haydn's Il Mondo della Luna)
Future developments
We aim to help art, theatre and music schools in London and outside with grants, awards and scholarships in keeping with Shu-Yao's wishes. We would welcome any donations to assist the achievement of the Trust's objectives.
