Recent work

This first issue of the The Fenton Arts Trust News outlines the Trust's work since 1997. The list of activities below shows how much the Trust's activities have expanded as the founder's endowment has been put to use.

1997-2000 Financial support for
- Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) : 3 students
- Royal Academy of Arts : 5 students
- Royal Ballet School : 2 students
- Royal Academy of Music : 3 students
- One independent artist

2000-2001 Financial support given to students
- RADA : 1 student

2001-2002 Financial support for :
- RADA : 1 student
- Bristol Old Vic Theatre School : 1 student
- Chichester Festival Theatre : Donation to Director's Project for
Indhu Rabusingham's production of Moliere's The Misanthrope
- Stagecoach Children's Theatre School : Donation
- Ashmolean Museum, Oxford : Assistance for purchase of drawing by George Richmond

2002-2003 Plans for the current financial year include :
- RADA : 1 student bursary
- Bristol Old Vic Theatre School : 1 student bursary
- Wimbledon School of Art : 1 student bursary
- Exeter College of Arts and Design : 1 student bursary
- Falmouth College of Art : Funds for student travel grants
- Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory, Bristol : Grant to enable new production
of Troilus and Cressida to go ahead
- National Print Exhibition : Award to an outstanding printmaker
- Assistance for one individual musician
- Royal Academy of Music (support under discussion)




Future developments

We aim to help art, theatre and music schools in London and outside with grants, awards and scholarships in keeping with Shu-Yao's wishes. We would welcome any donations to assist the achievement of the Trust's objectives. (Please make cheques payable to "The Fenton Arts Trust")
